INTRODUCTORY COURSE TO TRADITIONAL SHAOLIN MARTIAL ARTS
January 6 – May 30, 2025
The course will focus on developing students' physical fitness and basic skills in Shaolin.
Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
at the Honan Shaolin gym (see address below).
You will also learn two basic Lian Quan Tao 練拳套 (sets) of traditional Shaolin martial arts:
*Ji Ben Dong Zuo (Shaolin's fundamental skills set) and **Lohan Ma Deng Cao, (Shaolin's signature set that focuses on horse stance training). Additionally, there will be a two-hour seminar on the fundamental techniques of Shaolin's Eyebrow Staff.
All participants must attend at least two classes weekly to be included, but three weekly classes are recommended. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early, as classes start promptly at 7:00 PM. Punctuality and consistency are key to success in this course. Feel free to invite friends and family to join us on this journey.

No previous martial arts experience is required.
*Ji Ben Dong Zuo 基本動作 (jiben: basic; fundamental; main; elementary | dong zuo: to move ) ie. Fundamental skills set .
** Lohan Ma Deng Cao 羅漢 馬 登 操 (the name of this set literally means, "Arhat Practices Mounting a Horse") It is the signature basics set of this branch of Shaolin martial arts, designed to develop leg strength and movement.

Auditions
Everyone is welcome to audition! There are no fees for joining the team; the only requirement is to bring your enthusiasm, commitment to bi-weekly practices, and participation in occasional public performances. No experience is required.
• Learn on the go and execute a new skill within a short timeframe.
• Physical fitness
• Learn basic dance movement patterns (舞龍).

Auditions
